Pre-nuptial, post-nuptial and living together agreements

The Courts will not currently enforce pre-nuptial or post-nuptial agreements but are increasingly taking them into account on divorce or dissolution of a civil partnership.

We can advise you on :-

  • When to enter into an agreement
  • What financial disclosure you need to make
  • The enforceability of the agreement in your case
  • The likely award a Court would make if they did not abide by the agreement

If you are living with another person, whether or not you own a property, having an agreement that sets out your intentions as regards rent, outgoings and ownership of belongings will prevent costly and lengthy arguments later on should the relationship end.

Where you are living together with somebody and own property it is important that you take advice on whether a Trust Deed or Agreement is required.

We can advise on :-

  • Pre-nuptial Agreements
  • Post-nuptial Agreements
  • simple Living Together Agreements
  • complex Living Together Agreements where property is involved
  • Finance
  • Resolving Disputes relating to the breakup of a relationship where parties have not been married or have entered into a civil partnership
